Step into God's plan

Preparation is amazing, but when was the last time you actually took action?

How many times has God given you a direction but you made excuses as to why you’re not qualified to do what He’s calling you to do?

A journey begins with a single step.

I recently went zip lining and it was beautiful getting to fly above forests and see God’s beautiful creation, however there was one condition needed to experience this…taking a step off of the ledge.

I’ll be honest it was definitely scary looking over the edge, however I was advised to look up before I took a step off the ledge. When I looked up everything around me didn’t seem so scary anymore.

This concept can be applied to our faith, when we set our eyes on Jesus, our perspective changes, and suddenly taking a step isn’t as paralyzing, we can take a step in spite of our natural body wanting to fearful knowing God is in control.

Action paired with preparation can allow you soar. With zip lining we had prepared by having a harness secured to our body along with instructional training.

With Christ that can look like putting on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:11-18 NLT) And educating yourself on the industry He’s calling you too, often if you ask top leaders they’ll share that they learned along the way.

Jeremiah thought he was too young (Jeremiah 1:5-6).

Moses thought his speech wasn’t eloquent enough (exodus 4:10-17)

Gideon thought he had the weakest team (Judges 6:15-16).

Don’t worry about your present. Focus on the future God has for you and step into being that person. Don’t disqualify yourself when God is ready to qualify you. Take action today and step into who God is calling you to be.

Bible verses

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.“

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

"What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?"

James 2:14-20 NLT

Full armor of God

"Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere."

Ephesians 6:11-18 NLT

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."

Colossians 3:1-2 NIV
