Sometimes we pray all day and rebuke the enemy, not realizing that we might be the issue in our lives. It is very important to read the Bible because there are key principles God places in there that we need to pay attention to. Let’s do a self inventory today, repent, and commit to change moving forward.
Are you the problem? Are you the dramaaaa?
Here are some bible verses to reflect on to do some accountability checks.
“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James 4:6-8 NLT
Are you in your prideful era? It’s time to EXIT immediately. Key word “OPPOSES” the proud. IDK about youuuu but I definitely don’t want to fit the description of someone God opposes.
(I also ironically made an album called “exit” which can provide encouragement)
“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” I Peter 3:7 NKJV
Wives you can slide this over as a reminder to your husband / show your sons as you raise them. God makes it clear that He would like husbands to honor their wives. Doing the opposite will HINDER YOUR PRAYERS…major L alert.
Also a side lesson on this verse when you see “weaker vessel” doesn’t mean less valuable. Think of a clear Champaign glass & thick thermos water bottle. If a woman represents the glass, it is not less valuable than the thermos, it just has a different design and is more fragile. The analogy can go deeper because you need to take of the glass with great care, you can’t just treat it any type of way, and it’s usually used for beautiful honorable moments. If the glass tried to be a thermos it can actually become damaged trying to handle things God didn’t intend for its design.
“If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NLT
God is very adamant about loving our brothers and sisters in Christ.
“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.” James 1:22, 24 NLT
This one sums it up tbh. Loving God is amazing, going to church is amazing, reading the Bible is amazing. But if you don’t apply what you read to your life you are legitimately playing yourself. In some situations some of us sit and pray for hours, yet God already gave us the solution if we would only apply the word in our everyday lives.
Nobody’s perfect so of course it God accounts for grace. However He calls us to higher. Someone once said there’s a difference between a “stumble” and a “dive”. Don’t intentionally keep diving into sin, strive to live a righteous life.
“Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.”James 3:2 NLT
”If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.“ James 3:13 NLT
Stay blessed besties. Let’s go higher!
”Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.“
